Peakmoor Sandstone

Quarried on Stanton Moor near Matlock in Derbyshire and situated inside the Peak District National Park.

Peakmoor (previously known as Stanton Moor) is a fine to medium grained sandstone, predominantly buff in colour with occasional pink markings and/or brown iron intrusions.

It is essentially a freestone and therefore equally durable in the most common masonry applications which ever way its bed is laid.

Peakmoor Sandstone is one of our best selling stones as it is suitable for almost all building purposes. The colour makes it acceptable for most areas in the UK and Europe.
