Quarried on Stanton Moor near Matlock in Derbyshire and situated inside the Peak District National Park. Peak Moor is a fine to medium grained sandstone, predominantly buff in colour with occasional pink markings and / or brown iron intrusions. It is essentially a free stone and therefore almost equally durable in most common masonry applications, whichever way it’s natural bed is laid. Peak Moor Sandstone is highly sought after by architects nationwide. Reserves are secure with planning for many years to come. The quarry is worked all year round by one of our quarry teams and we can, if required, deliver direct from the quarry, via 18 ton rigid tipper vehicles or in artics from our Wingerworth stonework’s. Due to the high demand of this popular stone, availability can vary from 7 days to 2 - 3 months for random block. Specific sizes can take longer.
