Quarried near Whitehaven in Cumbria. Beestone is a fine to medium grained sandstone with a deep plum red colour and visible bedding lines. Occasionally the blocks can have small clay beds or some slight white markings running through the stone. This material is from the Triassic age and has been used for buildings since the Middle Ages. The Beestone material can be used for both new build and restoration purposes, particularly in the North West region of the UK and it is suitable for all masonry applications, including external paving. Beestone is also a very popular choice abroad, including Germany, Czech Republic, USA and Canada. A good example of this is the restoration project of a prestigious Cathedral in the state of New York and we invite you to view some of this work on the reference link. This quarry is worked regularly to fulfil orders and availability from stock is usually within 7 to 10 days.
